Gateway to the Great Glen
Twelve acres where ancient woodland meets Loch Ness, directly on the Great Glen Way. Step outside your door onto Scotland's most iconic trail.
Why Here?
For us, Ancarraig isn’t just a place to stay – it’s a place to breathe, slow down and reconnect with what matters. Tucked away above Loch Ness, surrounded by forest and open hills, it’s the kind of spot where you can truly switch off – yet still be close enough to explore the best of the Highlands. Whether you’re here for long walks, wild swims, a dram by the fire or simply a bit of quiet, there’s something grounding about this landscape that keeps drawing people – and us – back.
Ancarraig has been welcoming guests since the 1970s, and we feel more like its custodians than its owners – continuing to care for it, improve it and share the peace, space and magic that make this place so special.

Sat-Nav can be misleading as our postcode covers a wide area, so please follow Google Maps, What3Words or our directions given on the Location Page of our site.
Please note: the 3 mile road to Ancarraig Lodges is steep and windy in places and can be icy in winter. We advise that it’s a good idea to think about coming in a 4x4 to be prepared for all eventualities, or having winter tyres as a minimum in winter months. Snow chains or snow socks are recommended for 2WD vehicles. Snow can arrive overnight with no warning so it is always best to be prepared for a winter wonderland!
